At Copenhagen Atomics, we believe that abundant, reliable and affordable energy is fundamental to human progress.
Since 2014, we have been developing a new generation of nuclear energy technology based on thorium molten salt reactors. Our ambition is to industrialize nuclear energy through mass manufacturing, standardized reactor systems and a fundamentally different approach to deployment and economics.
Copenhagen Atomics is approaching 100 employees across Denmark and Switzerland, with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, scientists, technicians and commercial professionals.
As we enter the next phase of our growth, we are looking for an exceptional Head of Investor Relations to join our executive team and build the commercial organization that will bring Copenhagen Atomics technology to customers around the world.
About the role
Based in our Zug office, you will take a leading role in Copenhagen Atomics’ investor relations and capital-raising activities.
This is a senior, hands-on position. You will work closely with our CEO, CFO and existing investor relations colleagues to build relationships with investors and secure the capital required for the company’s continued growth.
Approximately 80% of your time will be directly related to investor engagement and capital raising: identifying prospective investors, developing relationships, presenting the Copenhagen Atomics investment case, managing fundraising processes and helping bring investment discussions to a successful close.
You will also help develop our Investor Relations organization in Zug. We expect our Swiss activities to grow significantly over the coming years, with the potential for the Zug organization to reach approximately 30 employees.
For the right candidate, this position offers substantial opportunity to grow in responsibility as the company and our international capital base expand.
Your key responsibilities
- Capital raising — identify, engage and develop relationships with institutional investors, family offices, private investors, venture and growth investors, and other long-term capital providers.
- Investor relationships — build trusted, long-term relationships with existing and prospective shareholders and serve as a senior point of contact between investors and Copenhagen Atomics.
- Fundraising execution — work closely with the CEO and management team throughout the fundraising process, from investor identification and initial meetings through due diligence, negotiation and closing.
- Investment narrative — clearly communicate Copenhagen Atomics’ technology, commercial strategy, market opportunity and long-term vision to sophisticated international investors.
- Investor materials and communication — work with management, finance and communications colleagues to develop presentations, financial information, investor updates and other materials supporting our fundraising activities.
- Leadership — help build and develop our Investor Relations team in Zug. Lead by example, support colleagues in making good decisions and create a culture of accountability, integrity and execution.
- International investor network — expand Copenhagen Atomics’ relationships with investors in Switzerland, Europe, the American and Asian markets.
What we are looking for
- You have at least 5 years of relevant experience in capital raising, investor relations, private equity, venture capital, investment banking, corporate finance or a comparable field.
- Ideally, you have personally participated in, and successfully completed, significant equity fundraising transactions for technology, deep-tech, energy, infrastructure or industrial companies.
- You are comfortable speaking directly with sophisticated investors, entrepreneurs, family offices and institutional capital providers.
- You combine strong relationship-building skills with the ability to move discussions toward concrete decisions and transactions.
- You have excellent business communication and presentation skills in English. Professional proficiency in German is highly desirable.
- You are comfortable discussing financial models, company valuations, capitalization structures and investment terms with investors and advisers.
- You have high personal integrity and understand that trust and credibility are fundamental to successful investor relationships.
- You are comfortable working in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment where priorities can change quickly and individual responsibility is high.
- You enjoy taking ownership rather than waiting for instructions and are motivated by ambitious, long-term goals.
Experience with nuclear energy is not required. However, intellectual curiosity and the ability to understand and communicate complex technology are essential.
Our culture combines engineering, entrepreneurship and a strong belief in personal responsibility. We value people who challenge assumptions, communicate openly, make decisions and take ownership of results.
